The summary
Nothing is charged to the person calling. PipeRenew is paid by the contractor who takes the referral, and the site still declines to print a service life for any pipe material — the figure that would sell a repipe fastest.
When the phone is answered
You give us the ZIP code, what your pipes are if you know, and what has been happening. We check it against the areas our partner contractors cover and connect you with one who covers yours. If nobody does, we say so on the call.
We do not take details to pass on later and we do not sell them.
Who pays us, and why that matters here more than usual
The contractors, when we route them a call. You are never charged anything, whether or not any work goes ahead.
Repiping is one of the largest jobs a house has done, which makes the incentive on a site like this one worth stating rather than hiding. So: this site refuses to publish the service life figures that are the standard way of persuading somebody they need a repipe, it says plainly that a single leak is an event rather than a pattern, and it tells you which questions to ask a contractor who is quoting you.
What this site is not
We are not a contractor. We carry out no work, we sell no pipe and no materials, we do not set prices and we supervise nobody. Contractors in our network are independent businesses required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands.
We do not vouch for any individual contractor and no page here says we do.
And we are emphatically not lawyers
This site states what the polybutylene class action covered and that its claims program has ended. It does not tell anybody whether they have a claim of any kind, against anybody, or what to do about it. That is a question for a lawyer and we are a plumbing referral service.
Photograph the printing on the pipe before you call.It names the material and often the year, and it is the single most useful thing you can have ready. We route to contractors who do this work in your area, picked on the ZIP code you give, and you are never charged. Repiping is just what we write about — any plumbing work at all can be routed.
